Wendy Welsh Senior Vice President, Information Technology

Wendy Welsh was named to her current position in 2001. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the utility industry.

Welsh started her career as General Accounting Supervisor at International Harvester. Prior to assuming an auditing position at Louisville Gas and Electric Company in 1984, she also had worked for John Deere & Company in Moline, Illinois, and Xerox Corporation in Dallas. Welsh held several management positions in LG&E's internal auditing, fuels and operating services, and information services areas. She subsequently became LG&E Energy's Vice President, Administration and Vice President, Information Technology before being promoted to her present position.

Welsh has a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Louisville. She has a CPA certification. She has completed an Executive Management program from Duke University, E.ON Academy's: Leading Corporate Transformations, American Management Association's Effective Executive Speaking and other training programs.

She is a board member of the Louisville Water Company and Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. Welsh is President of Kentucky Women's Forum and is a member of the Executive Women's Alumnae Group at the University of Louisville.
