E.ON U.S.'s Wellness program helps employees, retirees, and their spouses become tobacco-free. Our "Well...Stop!" Program is designed to allow you to choose the cessation program or technique — patches, gum, group support programs, hypnosis — that will work best for you. The Company will reimburse you for the cost of the program up to a maximum available benefit.
E.ON U.S. does not endorse any product or service. We strongly urge you to evaluate programs and services, in conjunction with your medical professional, to determine what cessation tool will work best for you.
Guidelines for the Cessation Reimbursement:
- Determine which tool(s) are appropriate for you. To be eligible for reimbursement, you must choose a company approved program.
- Complete a registration form and return it to:
Corporate Health & Safety - Smoking Cessation
LG&E Building
16th Floor
220 W. Main St.
Louisville, KY 40202
- Request reimbursement by completing a reimbursement form, attaching your receipt, and returning the documents to:
Corporate Health & Safety - Smoking Cessation
LG&E Building
16th Floor
220 W. Main St.
Louisville, KY 40202
- Remember, reimbursement will only apply to company-approved programs.
- You will receive reimbursement for 50% of the program cost (not to exceed a maximum of $150).
- If you remain tobacco-free for one year after the original reimbursement, the remaining 50% of the cost (not to exceed $150) will be reimbursed. You must sign a written statement verifying your tobacco-free status.
- While this is a benefit intended to be used only once, there is now a one-time "amnesty" opportunity which allows for one additional use of the program.

Smoking Cessation Programs
Improve your odds! Your best chance to stop tobacco use is to attend a behavioral modification program in combination with a nicotine replacement product.
Nicotine Replacement Therapy
Products now available in chewing gum form and nicotine delivery systems provide nicotine to aid in smoking cessation. The nicotine "patch" works by delivering a slow, continuous, and varying amount of nicotine through the skin into the bloodstream. This technique helps reduce withdrawal symptoms, allowing the tobacco user to focus on overcoming behavioral dependence upon tobacco products. It's important to read and understand the directions when using the patch. Medical complications can develop due to improper patch use.

Behavior Modification Programs
Because smoking or chewing is a learned behavior, quitting requires individuals to consciously unlearn this automatic behavior and substitute healthy, new alternatives. Behavior modification programs provide a step-by-step plan for quitting smoking in a group format. The group interaction provides an automatic support system, and shared experiences and techniques to help stop smoking behaviors. Contact each program directly for costs and scheduling.
