Hawkins Joins Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement

Barbara Hawkins, Manager, Corporate Health and Safety, will join the Advisory Committee of the Louisville Metro Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement beginning in March. The movement is intended to create a new culture in Louisville where physical activity and good nutrition are the norm.

The program also tries to motivate Louisville Metro citizens to increase their level of physical activity and to adopt more healthful lifestyles in general. Initiatives like "Move It, Louisville" and "Lose It, Louisville" will focus on encouraging citizens to get more exercise and to lose excess weight.

"We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the mayor on this community-wide effort," said Hawkins. "Like E.ON U.S.'s own wellness program, the Healthy Hometown Movement focuses on helping individuals achieve health and wellness by making positive lifestyle choices. We've got a lot of good news to share about our fitness, weight loss and smoking cessation programs to help improve overall employee health. I also look forward to learning from advisory group members about other wellness opportunities...for the benefit of all our employees, in Louisville as well as throughout Kentucky."
