WeCare logoDSM We Care Program — Savings Through Home Weatherization and Energy Education
Weatherization Program Helps Low-Income Families

We are working to make homes in our community more comfortable places for families in need who use a lot of energy and have a difficult time making ends meet to pay their utility bills.

Now there is a weatherization program, WeCare, (Weatherization, Conservation Advice and Recycling Energy), which is a Demand-Side Management (DSM) program designed to create savings through weatherization and energy education to help customers in need.

Because it's often difficult for families in need to make necessary repairs to save energy, we work with Community Action Agencies to identify customers who are heavy users of energy and find ways to help them reduce their energy consumption.

In many cases, homes are not maintained or weatherized as well as they could be; therefore, it takes more energy to heat or cool the home.

Many of the participants receive a walk-through inspection and energy education. Many of the participants receive HVAC and water heater system inspection and some others also receive air sealing and attic insulation.

The main eligibility requirement is income of 125% of the federal government-defined poverty level or less. When possible, elderly and disabled participants take precedence when requesting this service.

Please e-mail us or call 1-800-251-7808 with questions or for direct assistance.
