Attend Project Warm's "HouseWarming" Fundraiser on Dec. 4
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Would you like to get an early start on holiday shopping and help support a local nonprofit at the same time? If so, plan to attend Project Warm's annual "HouseWarming" fundraiser, sponsored by Louisville Gas and Electric Company, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Olmstead, located at 3701 Frankfort Ave. in Louisville.
Tickets are $10, and the event will feature the sale of holiday art created by students from several Jefferson County Public Schools. The event will also include live entertainment, refreshments, and a cash bar.
Items for purchase include holiday cards, sold in packs of 10 for $10, appliquéd aprons and scarves, rugs, decorative tiles, ornaments and magnets, folk art sculptures and Fleur-de-lis pins starting at $5, and handcrafted birdhouses to be sold during a silent auction.
Proceeds raised through ticket and merchandise sales, and silent art auctions will be used to support several Project Warm initiatives that assist low-income families in weatherizing homes and lowering energy bills. Organizers hope to raise more than $20,000 through the fundraiser.
"Although this isn't the first time we've worked with Jefferson County Public School students, we feel this event is one of our more special collaborations," said Walter Lay, executive director of Project Warm. "We hope that folks will do some of their holiday shopping at the event, and help support our long-standing effort to help disadvantaged citizens control heating costs."
Tickets for the event may be purchased at the door or advanced tickets may be purchased by calling Project Warm at 502-636-9276.
