E.ON U.S. Foundation Awards More Than $42,000 in College Scholarships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — To foster higher education, the E.ON U.S. Foundation has donated more than $42,000 to 10 high school seniors in Kentucky and Virginia.
The 11th Annual Scholarship Program granted the awards to children of E.ON U.S. employees. Each student will receive annual scholarships of $1,200 to be applied towards their tuition and other college expenses.
"Our scholarship program demonstrates the company's continued support of higher education and young people across the Commonwealth. As the leaders of tomorrow, they are beginning to shape their futures to become contributing members of the community," said Chip Keeling, vice president, E.ON U.S. Foundation.
Independent judges outside of E.ON U.S. evaluated more than 100 applicants based on academic skills, school and community activities, leadership abilities and work experience. Scholarships are renewable each year as long as the student continues to meet the eligibility requirements.
