LG&E Energy Names Brad Rives Chief Financial Officer
(LOUISVILLE, Ky. – September 2, 2003) Brad Rives, LG&E Energy's Senior Vice President – Finance, has been named the company's Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Richard Aitken-Davies, who is ending his assignment in the United States. on Sept. 30 and returning to England. The change will be effective Sept. 15.
Rives, a Louisville native, began his service at LG&E Energy in 1983 when he joined the company as Assistant Manager – Tax Accounting. Since that time, he has held a variety of positions including Director – Corporate Finance, Associate General Counsel, Assistant Treasurer, SVP Finance and Business Development, and SVP Finance and Controller. As CFO, Rives will report directly to Vic Staffieri, Chairman, CEO and President.
Rives completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky and his law degree at the University of Louisville.
"Brad has had a distinguished career with LG&E Energy and I have every confidence in his ability to be successful in his new role," Staffieri said.
Aitken-Davies first came to Louisville in March 2000 with Powergen's merger team. On Jan. 1, 2001, he began an assignment as LG&E Energy's CFO, which was later extended at the company's request. He and his wife, Sally, have become true "Louisvillians" by immersing themselves in a variety of community activities.
According to Aitken-Davies, "We have made a number of very good friends in Kentucky, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the U.S. and working with my Louisville-based team. However, our permanent home remains in England and, much as we will miss Kentucky, the time has come to head back."
"Richard has been an outstanding mentor. I hate to see him go, but I wish Richard and Sally all the best as they return home," said Rives.
Staffieri said, "We owe a debt of gratitude to Richard. He has brought great vision, good judgment and a wonderful sense of humor to the company. We look forward to maintaining close contact with Richard and Sally for many years to come."
