John McCall was named to his current position in 1994. He has 30 years of experience in the electric and natural gas utility industry. As Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer, he has overall responsibility for E.ON U.S.'s Legal, State Regulations and Rates, Federal Regulation and Policy, Compliance and Ethics, Communications, External Affairs, Corporate Responsibility and Community Affairs, and Human Resources departments.
McCall started his career as Active Duty/Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve. He subsequently was Partner/Chairman of the Management Committee for Middleton & Reutlinger, and Partner/Litigation Chairman for Brown, Todd & Heyburn before joining LG&E Energy in 1994. In 2001, McCall was placed on special assignment in Europe for one year as Transition Director, E.ON/Powergen/LG&E Energy Acquisition.
McCall has a bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University. He has also completed the Senior Executive Harvard Business School Program, and has participated in courses on Ethical Issues, Mediation, General Counsel Roundtable, US/German Cultural Awareness, Corporate Financial Management — University of Chicago Business School and Council of Chief Legal Officers.
His professional/trade memberships include American Bar Association, American Bar Foundation, American Society of Corporate Secretaries, The Conference Board, Federal Energy Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Kentucky Defense Counsel, The General Counsel Roundtable, The Law Club, Louisville Bar Association, and The Managing Counsel Group. He is a member of Citizens for Better Judges and served on the Louisville Forum's Advisory Council and the Boards of the Housing Partnership, Family and Children's Counseling Centers and Louisville Collegiate School. McCall also is Past Board Chairman and Chairman of various committees for Metro United Way.
