Chip Keeling

Vice President, Communications

Chip Keeling was named to his current position in 2002. He has ten years of experience in the electric and natural gas utility industry.


Keeling began his career as Public Relations Specialist at the University of Louisville. Prior to joining LG&E Energy as Manager, Public Information in 1999, he also had worked for Jack Guthrie and Associates, The Hallmark Group, Keeling and Associates, and General Electric Company. Keeling subsequently became LG&E Energy's Director, Corporate Communications before being promoted to his current position.


Keeling has a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville, and a minor in biology from the University of Kentucky. He has accepted sabbatical assignments in Seoul, Korea, and Hong Kong when working for the General Electric Company. He was one of a select group to participate in E.ON's inaugural International Management class at IMD (Lausanne, Switzerland). Keeling has also attended senior executive courses at Harvard Business School, MIT, London School of Business and is a certified Six Sigma green belt.


His professional/trade and Board memberships include: Utility Communicators International; Best Practices in Corporate Communications (National Advisory Board); International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) (Hall of Fame inductee); Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) (Hall of Fame inductee); The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts Endowment Board (Board of Directors); Better Business Bureau (Board of Directors); Louisville Central Area Inc.; and a past board member for YMCA of Greater Louisville Camp Piomingo. He served as a Junior Achievement Business Mentor as well as on the Metro United Way Communications Committee. Keeling also coached youth basketball and baseball for 20 years.
