Chris Hermann

Senior Vice President, Energy Delivery

Chris Hermann was named to his current position in February 2003. He leads the strategic and operational management of the company's natural gas and electric distribution operations and retail businesses in Kentucky and Virginia, as well as the company's interests in three natural gas companies in Argentina.


Hermann joined Louisville Gas and Electric in 1966 as a summer worker during college, returned for engineering co-op assignments from 1967 through 1969, and joined the company full time in 1970 as a plant staff engineer. He advanced to plant manager in 1978 and was named to successively more responsible senior management positions. In December 2000, he became senior vice president, distribution operations.


During his career, Hermann has managed several special assignments, including leading the transition of LG&E Energy's merger with KU Energy Corp. and the operational transition following the company's acquisition by the United Kingdom's former Powergen plc.


Among his civic activities, Hermann serves on the Board of Industrial Advisors of the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School, and the board of directors for the Kentucky State Park Foundation and the American Gas Association. He received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Louisville and has attended programs at Duke University, Harvard University, Edison Electric Institute and the E.ON Academy.
