LG&E and KU Green Energy is pursuing Green-e® Certification, which requires companies offering certified products to provide their customers with this notice of price, terms and conditions of service. For more information about the Green-e Renewable Energy Program, write Green-e, PO Box 29512, San Francisco, CA 94129 or log onto
www.green-e.org.
Where does my money go? What does it buy?
To make the difference, we have to pay the difference,
and your Green Energy purchases are doing just that.
Your Green Energy dollars will purchase “green tags”
that were produced with corresponding electricity from
regional renewable resources not owned by KU or LG&E
(but on the same transmission grids).
Green tags represent the environmental benefits of
the underlying electricity. Since renewable energy costs
more than carbon-based energy to produce, voluntary
purchases of green tags are needed to help develop
more renewable energy that displaces carbon-based
energy on the same grids.
Who should I contact for more information?
Residential and Commercial customers may contact
Customer Service at 589-1444 (LG&E) or 800-981-0600
(KU); or log onto www.eon-us.com/green. Large Commercial and Industrial
customers can view program information at the above
web address and should contact their Key Account
Representative for additional information.
How will I be billed?
You will see a line item on your monthly bill for
additional Green Energy charges which will increase
the total amount of your bill.
How will Green Energy appear on my bill?
Small Green Energy – Homes and Small Businesses
If you are a Residential (RS rate) or Small Commercial
(GS rate) customer, you will see a $5.00 charge on your
monthly bill for each 300 kWh block of Green Energy
you purchase. You may purchase as many 300 kWh
Blocks of Green Energy as you choose.
Medium and Large Commercial Customers
If you are a Medium and Large Commercial customer, you will see a $13 charge on your monthly bill for each 1,000 kWh block of Green Energy you purchase. You may buy as many 1,000 kWh Blocks of Green Energy as you choose, however you may not purchase partial Blocks of Green Energy.
How much will my total electricity service cost, including utility charges?
Green Energy is $5 per 300 kWh block, and the average residential customer uses 900 kWh of electricity each month. Therefore, to match average monthly usage with Green Energy, the customer would purchase 3 blocks of Green Energy. This charge is in addition to their regular monthly electricity charges.
Green Energy Premium for 3 blocks – $15. Total – $75.
Will my Green Energy rates change over time?
While the cost of regular electricity may vary over the years, the premium for Green Energy will remain consistent for the duration of this program which runs until the middle of 2010.
What fuel sources will be used to generate my green energy?
Our Green Energy product is sourced 100% from Kentucky small hydroelectric power certified by the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI). We purchase this renewable energy in the form of renewable energy certificates (RECs). Please also see the Product Content Label for additional details on the product mix.
What length of agreement is required?
There is no minimum length of agreement for Residential and Small Commercial customers. Participants remain enrolled until they choose to cancel. Residential and Small Commercial customers can cancel at any time without penalty, but once they dis-enroll, they cannot re-enroll for 12 months.

If I want to terminate this agreement, what is the early termination fee?
