E.ON U.S. is very active in reducing emissions through our energy conservation program called Demand-Side Management. The company also is an Energy Star Partner, which encourages customers to make their homes more energy efficient and is good for the environment. We promote energy efficiency through a variety of programs:

• Demand Conservation units installed on more than 93,000 air conditioning units. Customers earn $5 per month, June through September, for having the device on their air conditioning units. The devices help reduce summer peak demand by as much as 93 megawatts, enabling us to use our power plants more efficiently and delay the addition of new ones.
• Residential Energy Audits provided to more than 8,800 customers since 2001 with customer actions resulting in annual reductions of 5,596 mWh of electric usage and 66.6 mmcf of natural gas usage. Residential Energy Audits are available year-round.
• Commercial Energy Audits provided to more than 4,200 customers since 2001 with customer actions resulting in annual reductions of 25,345 mWh of electric usage and 313.4 mmcf of natural gas usage. Schedule an audit and make your business more energy efficient.
• Weatherization services provided to nearly 4,400 low-income customers since 2001 resulting in annual reductions of 5,756 mWh of electric usage and 84.6 mmcf of natural gas usage. The WeCare low-income weatherization program is available for those who meet eligibility requirements.
• Project Warm is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide free weatherization services to low-income and elderly citizens of Louisville Metro. E.ON U.S. has partnered with Project Warm since its inception in 1982, and every November hundreds of our employees volunteer to weatherize more than 400 homes of the elderly and disabled.
