In what area do you work as an intern, and what types of work assignments do you complete?

"I work in the Communications department, providing support in a variety of ways. I primarily help Internal Communications by researching and writing News Transmission articles. I've also worked with External Communications to write press releases and help organize our involvement in Thunder Over Louisville, the Kentucky Derby Marathon"

"I work in the Corporate Human Resources Department. The majority of my tasks center on staffing, such as calling candidates to set up interviews, making interview packets and schedules. I also post positions on external and internal websites and do query reports, termination notices and requisitions."

"I work in the Energy Marketing Accounting department and my main job is to complete settlement and resettlement statements to reconcile our numbers with MISO's numbers. I also do balance sheet reconciliations once a month, as well as MAN financials daily to prepare either disbursements to be sent to accounts payable or credit slips."

"I chose E.ON U.S. because it does well for the community and is a well-established company. And a large corporate environment can better prepare you for the future than a smaller company. I also wanted to work for a company that is involved in the community."

"This experience has shown me how accounting comes into play in the 'real world,' so to speak, instead of just the textbook knowledge I have learned. I am learning skills applicable to all accounting jobs, including balance-sheet reconciliations. I am also gaining insight into the accounting environment, how to handle situations in a professional manner, the feel of a typical workday, etc."

"Yes, I would love to work for E.ON U.S. after graduation. E.ON offers their employees many perks and benefits I don't believe you could find at other companies. Having worked in a smaller corporation, I know that E.ON U.S. is able to offer their employees more than just a work place. Also, I would like to work for a company that helps the community. E.ON U.S. sponsors so many events and with the Power of One campaign I feel like I'm working for a company that does help."

"During my internship, I learned day-to-day activities performed by an accounting analyst, which were easily transferable to my current position. I worked through many different accounting issues while on special projects, which helped me to obtain a better understanding of accounting policies and procedures.
